Discovery (week 0)

  • Locations and screens — count endpoints; note orientation and resolution targets.
  • Content owners — who approves brand and promotions? Get one named approver.
  • Network — guest Wi‑Fi vs corporate LAN; document MAC allowlist needs if applicable.

Pilot (week 1–2)

  • Put one playlist on two screens in one location.
  • Validate update latency and after-hours behavior (sleep, power, HDMI-CEC).
  • Capture one screenshot of each screen for your internal runbook.

Rollout

  • Batch by region or brand — avoid parallel cutovers across every location.
  • Freeze content formats during rollout — fewer variables when debugging.

Handoff to support

  • Escalation path — who is paged for offline players?
  • Change window — when can you push updates without disrupting retail peaks?
